Lauren is a Clinical Psychologist who has been working in the field for over ten years. She completed her Bachelor of Psychology at the University of Western Australia, and Masters in Clinical Psychology at Curtin University. She has been registered as a Clinical Psychologist since 2006 and has worked predominantly in the public system with adolescents, young offenders and their families.
Lauren works collaboratively and flexibly with individuals, couples and families presenting with a wide range of psychological and relational issues; assisting them to develop skills to manage emotional, behavioural, mental health and relationship difficulties.
She uses a variety of approaches when working with clients, based on the individual needs and goals of each person. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy and Mindfulness. Building a strong relationship between therapist and client is also a priority with regards to achieving positive outcomes in therapy.
As well as individual and family therapy, Lauren also works with primary and high-school students in the school setting, providing workshops for students, staff and parents. Workshop topics include: Building resilience in adolescents, body image and self-esteem, stress management, adolescent mental health issues, the transition from boyhood to manhood, and being a young female in today’s society.
